Getting to Rothesay

There are two international airports on the Scottish mainland

Glasgow International (GLA) –

Glasgow Prestwick (PIK) –

Rothesay is approximately 2 hours from Glasgow International Airport door-to-door

Extensive public transport link (ScotRail and coach companies) exist between Glasgow and Wemyss Bay (where the ferry to Rothesay leave from) with regular schedules.

You can opt to drive to Wemyss Bay and board the ferry with your vehicle (additional charges apply) to reach Rothesay and have the ability to drive around the island.

Booking your ferry :  Caledonian MacBrayne –

If you have a single prop aircraft there is also a small airstrip without services on the southern tip of the Isle of Bute – a 15 minute drive from Craigberoch, adapted to single prop planes but not jets.


Getting there from Rothesay

The closest bus stop is Waverley Avenue, which is 0.8 miles from Craigberoch and is operated by West Coast Motors

By car or on foot take Barone Road / B878 out of Rothesay, direction Straad

1 miles after leaving Rothesay the road takes a hard left just before reaching Greenan Loke

Following this hard left take the left turn just after a small radio tower onto a dirt road that leads to Craigberoch

There are currently two cattle gates between the road and the site, accessible only by off road vehicle

300 yards on the dirt road you have arrived at Craigberoch
